Like most guys, I love cars, especially drifting cars. When I was in college, I was exposed to the world of 3D modelling, guess what, the first 3D complex model I made was a Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 which was inspired from one of the famous Japanese anime, Initial D.
During the fall of 2008, I started to create my own car drifting animation, while using some of the famous Japanese stock cars such as the S13, AE86, RX7, Lancer Evo, NSX, and some concept cars such as the HSV-10. Things started out pretty well, low-poly modelling, until the animatic and low-resolution rendering stage where my harddrive crashed…
Nothing much can be retrieved from the crashed harddrive, below are some of the low polygon cars which I had in my backup storage. This exclude the FD RX-7 which was the toughest model I ever modelled that time…
The end of this dream
Would I continue this project? How I wish I could. It was a heart broken experience for a noobie like me to start a 3D animation but didn’t make a complete back-up for this project. Although I managed to retrieved some of the files, but most of the model and scene files were gone. So, I think it should be left in that way.
Thank you for reading and watching.
Project Initial Dream
Inspired by Japanese anime Initial D, I started Project Initial Dream as a personal 3D Animation project, in attempt to learn and experience a complete 3d animation workflow from pre to post production.
